After getting all of the pictures arranged I was surprised how few pictures of people I had. Then I realized that the people pictures would mostly have been of my brother and I inside the cabin of our truck; tired from non-stop driving…..not the most flattering to say the least….I think that’s why I didn’t choose them. An interesting person pic I had was of the “naked cowboy” in NY City….but I choose cool looking buildings over him; what can I say I have a lot of engineer’s in the family. I went on this trip to help my brother and his wife (she flew over) move from California to New Jersey and also take landscape and abstract pictures that my brother could put on his print photography website. I will be posting more of the abstracts in the near future (you can find one of them in the archives). I would like to take another trip but much more leisure, maybe do some rock climbing/hiking/kayaking….things like that. But it was fun to see the different types of people you see throughout the country.

Ramesh is a doctor and we had a fun time discussing the differences between herbal medicines and FDA tested medications that are sold by the large companies……doesn’t sound that interesting; but it was! At least I thought so :) We choose a nice place in Laguna Beach; “The Montage” and walked around trying out different spots. It’s a nice place, definitely somewhere you should visit if you get the chance – just to spend the afternoon, then walk around town later in the evening.

I was just having some fun with photography-friends, flashes, tripods, and lights…. in an alley late at night :) Also, I showed this image to a few people and they automatically assumed that it’s Photoshop-ed….it’s not. Just me running around behind a still subject with a light, and some camera flashes in hand. The blurry faced man in the middle image (sorry Kam) is Kameron Olds from http://shootinggalleryphoto.com/blog/, and the portraits are of Anthony from http://www.moondogphoto.com/blog/. Enjoy, and I actually shot an engagement with some of these light ideas – no there are no ninja moves involved…..coming soon!

I feel like we connected immediately and it allowed us to have a good time during their engagement and wedding. We celebrated their wedding at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens. We did lots of walking but thankfully we also had a handy golf cart! The Gardens were really beautifully, lots of places to take photographs and go exploring….Including the panoramic ceremony site. Chris and Laura had close friends and their friendship with everyone there made the whole event very comfortable/enjoyable.

Of course it helps when you know almost everyone in the bridal party and are friends with the bride and groom. Kevin and Jen are wonderful people and I am glad to call them friends. It was a pleasure photographing their wedding. Everyone had a blast and it was special to see Jen and Kevin finally tie the knot. The best to you both. I would also like to thank my assistant Kt Anson who took some lovely photographs, including most of the photo booth pictures….and I wish I could post all the dancing pictures because the reception was off the hook!
